GREYHOUNDS AT THE FARM
STORIES IN DEVELOPMENT | Racing greyhounds start their lives on farms designed for raising, nurturing and training the speedsters. Broodies usually are artificially inseminated and give birth to pups at the farm. Handlers and trainers begin their road to the racetrack by first acclimating them with people. At about nine months, the hounds begin training with artificial lures for keenness, speed and running corners; the successful ones make it to the track at 18 months. These are the stories about the people and events associated with raising greyhounds.
